Who is Mori Calliope?

Mori Calliope (森カリオペ) is a female English-speaking VTuber part of the Japanese talent agency hololive. She debuted on 12 September, 2020, and has been streaming ever since. She has amassed over 2 million YouTube subscribers since her debut, and is one of the most popular VTubers on the platform. She also has a Twitch channel, but it is rarely used. Her models are illustrated by the artist Yukisame.
Calli is also a skilled rapper/singer, and has garnered attention for her music, having charted on the Japanese Oricon charts numerous times with her releases, and, most notably, her first EP 'Dead Beats', was top 1 on the iTunes worldwide album chart for a short time. She is currently signed to EMI Records (part of Universal Music Group) as part of a partnership between hololive and Universal, and has released 2 albums, 5 EPs, and numerous singles, however, not all of these have been under EMI.

What about her lore?

Calli is the Grim Reaper's first apprentice - however, due to recent technological and scientific advancements in the health industry, the amount of people dying started to stagnate, causing the reaping business to decline as well. This caused her to become a VTuber in order to harvest the souls of her viewers instead, as the ascended souls of viewers who are vaporized by the cute and wholesome interactions between VTubers happen to go to her as well. She comes from the Underworld, but now lives in 'Overworldian' Japan. She has a scythe made of stainless steel, which she can summon and dismiss at will.

Her birthday is April 4, however, she has stated in her debut stream that she has no age.
She is 167cm (≈ 5'6") tall, making her one of the tallest talents in Hololive English.
Contrary to what many would think, she's a rather gentle-hearted girl who cares about her friends - but she's also a total airhead and very forgetful at times. She is also noted to be an exceptionally hard worker - not too shabby for a shinigami!

- On 1 September 2021, Cover Corp. (the parent company of hololive) announced that the spelling of Calli's name in Japanese was going to be officially changed from '森美声' to '森カリオペ', using katakana to spell "Calliope" rather than kanji. From what I know, it was to make the pronunciation of her name more clear for Japanese fans.
